Last week Blake's class went on a field trip to learn about the desert. I went along and chaperoned. Now, I know you all say it doesn't get cold in Arizona but it was cold. Yes, we even have mountains and ski slopes. Well, it was cold and overcast.
Here we are inside watching a video. See the kids in warm coats. Blake was watching closely.
See how cold we all look. The kids learned about wildlife in the desert. Yes, the lady is holding a live snake. Not my fav part but the kids loved it. The look on her face is great. She told the kids that a lot of animals live in holes in the desert so not to poke sticks into the holes. How would you like it if you were chatting with the little ones about school and some one puts a big stick in your living room. They said that something like 80% of the people injured from animals in the desert are boys. Go figure.

See how cold we look. I just had to post this pic so you can see how grey the sky was. We were learning about the different cactus. To me a cactus is a cactus but we did learn that you can drink the juice from the agave cactus. If you can get past the smell its not to bad.
