Today is Kirk's 13th bday. Here is 13 pics to celebrate. Keep in mind that my camera wasn't so good in the early days.
Excellent green cupcake!

This is Kirk and Toni at Kindergarten graduation. On the first day of school Toni asked Kirk if it was his first day of school. He said yes of course and she answered mine too. They have been friends ever since.

This is a concert their band did with another school. Kirk is actually the only flute player in the Jr. High band. Woohoo!

Kirk's class went to the Challenger Space Center and did a simulated mission to Mars. It was awesome. We didn't crash but we did almost run out of air.

Kirk has grown up to be a wonderful young man. As long as we survive the teen years he will grow up to be a wonderful adult. LOL

We love him very much!

Happy 13th Birthday Kirk!

Uniquely Blake

Everyone knows how unique Blake is. We were in the car and Kirk is saying banana both ways, long a and short a. Then Blake says bagel. What does that mean exactly? I have tons of pics of Blake sharing his uniqueness so I thought I would share a few.

Blake in the box again.

Blake with a box on his head...

Blake with sort of a box on his head.

He is looking very mischievous.

The many faces of Blake.

His unique way is awesome. His outrageous personality is wonderful. He keeps us laughing a lot. He is one of a kind and we love him.

Girl Scout Camp

Last weekend Desirae and I went to our first ever girl scout camp. We had a blast! It was up in the Prescott area which is about an hour and a half north. There was still snow on the ground. YES we do get snow in Arizona.

This was the first night at campfire.
This is also at campfire. Desirae got these glasses on the way up. They are "Pink Panther" glasses and she just loved them. They sure look cute on her. They learned about different animal tracks. This was the creek in the middle of camp. There were lots of track around it. See the snow!!

We did a class on geocashing. Desirae was directing us.

Crafts, crafts and more crafts. We learned some we are going to do with our troop.Desirae wanted to do the color guard for the evening flag ceremony. I was very proud of her.
This is our bunk. The cabins were heated. I know its not real "camping". But the toilet in the cabin was great when you just had to go in the middle of the night. Those of you who know me know just how much I like mornings so it wasn't much fun sharing with adults that didn't know the meaning of whisper early in the morning but oh well. I didn't think smacking them in the forehead with a shoe would be very scout like.
This is Sunday morning just before we left. We are out front of the lodge. It was beautiful. My daughter is such a poser!!

The Real ER

Last Thursday Kirk crashed on his bike. This resulted in a trip to the ER. He, being the 12 (almost 13) year old boy that he is, wanted pictures. I will not post the pictures of the injury cuz they are yeechy. Those of you who know me know that it took a while before I was brave enough to look at them. So, here are the non-graphic pictures.

Here is the doctor stitching him up. The conversation went like this.
Doc: How did you do this?
Kirk: I went off a ramp with my bike and missed.
Doc: Did you build the ramp?
Kirk: No, my Dad did (as he points at Jeff).
At this point the doctor looks up and Jeff smiles.
Me: I just stay inside.

Here is Kirk not looking while the doctor stitched him up. I want you all to know that I did look. Except when the doctor was digging around in the hole to make sure there was no rocks and you wouldn't look then either.

It wasn't to bad. Kirk did really well. He has a hole (there is a piece of flesh out front in the street somewhere) and a couple slashes just below his knee. He also ended up with some pretty good road rash on his arm. Actually, I am surprised this was our first major injury. Jeff said he already had broken bones by the time he was Kirk's age.
